 The USA Ladies Team to participate at the 2012 Ladies Rink Hockey World Championships in Recife, Brazil, November 10th through the 17th.

Bremerton roller hockey players rolling to Brazil

Women's World Roller Hockey Championships

 

Seven of the 11 players representing the United States at the upcoming Women's World Roller Hockey Championships, Nov. 11-17 at Recife, Brazil, are current or past members of the Bremerton Hurricanes.

Bremerton Roller Hockey Club's Frankie Lee, who played multiple times on the men's world team, will once again coach the women at the world tournament.

Autumn Lee, Ceilidh Sligh, Kennedy Lee and Bethany Near recently helped the Hurricanes win a women's national championship in Cumberland, Md. — the club's 18th title in 20 years.

They'll be joined in Brazil by Tonya Vensel, Erin House, and Gwen Barry — a big part of the Hurricanes' dynasty and past U.S. world teams. The three veterans agreed to come out of semi-retirement to fill out a roster that was short of world-class players.

"7 Females from Bremerton are traveling with Team USA to compete in the 11th Women's Rink Hockey World Championships in Recife, Brazil Nov. 10th-17th. These ladies are responsible for the funding as it has been cut from the Olympic committee".

2012 USA Ladies Team Tryouts (TEAM MEMBERS SELECTED)

The tryouts for the 2012 USA Ladies Team were held on Friday, July 13, 2012, the day after the end of the 2012 USA Rink Hockey National Championships. Some 20 plus ladies started the camp at 7:00am to choose the Team to participate at the 2012 Ladies Rink Hockey World Championships in Recife, Brazil, November 10th through the 17th.      

The Ladies chosen for the Team in alphabetical order were:

Christina Fritz of Everett, Washington is a member of the 2010 USARS Women’s Rink Hockey team who competed in the 2010 FIRS-CIRH Ladies World Rink Hockey Championships, September 25^th through October 2^nd in Alcobendas (Madrid), Spain.  She was a member of the 2008 Women’s World Team who placed 4^th at 2008 World Championships in Akita Japan, and is a multiple time Rink Hockey National Champion.  Christina currently is a member of the Jet City Roller Girls All Star Travel Team.

Women’s Rink Hockey World Team

2010 USA LADIES RINK HOCKEY TEAM

After the conclusion of the 2010 National Rink Hockey Championships at Bremerton Skateland in Bremerton, Washington a new USA Ladies Rink Hockey Team was selected to participate at the 2010 FIRS-CIRH Ladies World Rink Hockey Championships. The Championships will run September 25th through October 2nd in Alcobendas (Madrid), Spain. The selection camp was over three hours of drills, exercises and scrimmages to choose the ladies to represent the United States.
